Continued Thursday 25th. Novr. 1779.

respective Leases or any or either of them although there are now
230 Leases prepared and preparing to be Sealed with the said
Hospitals Seal in Pursuance of Written Contracts made and entered
into by the treasurers and governors respectively (that is to say) 41
for Saint Bartholomews Hospital 94 for Christs Hospital 66 for
Bridewell and Bethlem Hospitals and 29 for Saint Thomas's
Hospital and that many of such Leases are in Pursuance of Contracts
entered into for Building of Houses or other Erections and that observe
of the Builders so Contracting have Occasion to borrow Money upon
the Credit of such Leases Houses and Erections and are much distressed
and Prejudiced by the delay in obtaining such Leases.

That the Living of Little Wakering in Essex in the Gift of
Saint Bartholomew's Hospital becoming Vacant sometime in or
about the Month of July 1778 the same in the usual manner
declared at a General Court holden for the said Hospital the 16th.
day of the same Month of July and the Election of a new Vicar
appointed for the 29th. day of August following and the same coming
on that Day accordingly The Revd . Derbyshire Myers< no role > Clerk was
Elected Whereupon It was Ordered that a Presentation of the
said Derbyshire Myers< no role > to the said Living should pass under the
Seal of the said Hospitals That such Presentation being made
out was left at the Chamberlains Office with the usual Docket & Fee
and was afterwards at the next Court of Lord Mayor and Aldermen
Presented to that Court in Order to have the Seal of the Royal
Hospitals Affixed to it But the Clerk on such Application was
informed by the said Court That by reason of such Orders and
Resolutions of the 4th. and 17th. Days of March 1778 the same could
not be done by that Court alone for want of which the said
Derbyshire Myers could not Apply to the Lord Bishop of London
in whose Diocese the said Living Lies for Institution the said
Derbyshire Myers having sometime afterwards been Presented to
another Living He thereupon declined Accepting the Living of
Little Wakering aforesaid and the Election of another Vicar was
Appointed for the 19th. day of January last and the same coming on
Accordingly on that Day the Revd. James Harper< no role > Clerk was Elected
