be Limestreet (No. 7)


Upon Reading the humble Petition of Joshua Morgary< no role > of the
Parish of Saint Gabirel Fenchurch Street London Tailer
SettingforthThat the Petitioner proposes to take a Lease
(with usual Covenants between the Governors and their Tenants)
of a House in Limestreet (No. 7 ) on the North side of the Gateway
to the Square for 21 years from Michas next at £15 P Ann rent
clear of Taxes and to lay out £200 in Necessary Repairs And to
Execute a Counterpart of such LeaseAnd praying the
Governors to grant him a Lease According to his said Proposal
It is Ordered that the sd. petition be referred to the
Comittee of this House to Consider thereof and Report their Opinion
thereon to the Court.

At this Court the humble Petition of Charles Cotton was read
praying to be Elected Steward of this Hospital in the room of the
late Steward ActonAnd the Petition of Thomas Chance< no role > to be
Steward being also read He desired leave to withdraw his said
PetitionWhereupon The Question being put that Charles
Cotton be Steward of this Hospital till next Election day It appeared
And The Right Worshipfull Mr. Alderman Benn President declared
That the said Charles Cotten< no role > was Unanimously Elected Steward of
this Hospital at till the next Election day And it is Ordered
that the said Charles Cotton (giving Security as usual) be
Admitted Steward of this Hospital untill the next Election day
and that he shall have receive and enjoy the Salary & profits
thereunto belonging and also the Rooms and Chambers wherein
the said late Steward Acton dwellAnd he being called Impressed [..]
to resign his Staff as a Govrs with the Court accepted & Ordered his Name to be less as of the List of
the Governors for the future.

This Court Doth Elect Sir Charles Goring< no role > of Steyning in Sussex Barrt .
to be one of the Governors of these Hospitals And Order that a Staff
be forthwith sent to him Notwithstanding the Order of Court the 29th.
of April 1748.
