Hospital for their usual Gratuities of Forty Shillings a peice in respect of the half
year ending at Midsumer last for that their Salarys are but smalIt is
Ordered that the Clerk of these Hospitals do give and Pay unto them Forty
Shillings a Peice to be Allowed him in his next Account

London Merchant Proposes to
take a Lease of the House in Bridewell
Precint (No. 5a.) in which he now dwells which
expires this Midsumer and if the Governors will allow him £5 a year to layout in repairs he
is willing to take a New Lease for 7.11. or 16 Years at £10 P Ann rentOr he is willing to lay
out £60 in repairing and beautifyeing the Prmes & to pay £12 P Ann rent if the Governor wou'd
allow him the sd. £60 in rent as it becomes dueOr if the Governors will layout £60 in repairs
Then he is willing to take a Lease for the above Term at the Old rent of £15And he being
called in proposed on the Governors lay out £50 in repairs as he shall direct to take a Lease for 21
years from Michas last £15 P Ann rent Clear of Taxes & to repair the Pavement at his own
Expence which said Lease is to Contain the usual Covenants & a Covenant to Serve the Office
of Chapple Warden when Elected in the usual Manner to pay to the Chapplewardens
Quarterly his proportion with the other Inhabitants in the Precinct of the Sums which
Shall be raced at the usual Meetings towards the Charge of the Scavenger Watch & Poor of the sd
sd. PrecinctWhereupon the Comittee have Considered the sd last proposal one of Opinion to Acept
the Same upon which the sd Thos Brown gave half a Guinea to the Poors box Allwch nevertheless
is Submitted to the Judgmt. of the Court And it is Ordered that this Opinion be reported to the next
CourtThis Court haveing duly weighed & Considered the said Report doth Confirm the
same and Order that a Lease the made to the said Thos: Brown Accordingly
