Upon Reading the Humble petition of John Hewlet< no role > of the Parish of Saint
Ann Westminster in the County of Middx Carpenter and the Reverend John Pelling< no role >
of the same place Doctor in Divinity Setting forthThat the Governors by Indre
of Lease dated 9th. of Septr. 1738 demised to the petitioner Hewlet. All that peice
or Parcell of Ground whereon six Brick Messes were then lately Erected and built in
the Precinct of the Hospital of Bridewell London Abutting East upon King Edward
Street West upon Water Street North on Ground Demised to Silas Palmer and
South upon ground demised to John Senither containing in length from North
to south 53 feet 4 Inches and in Depth 54 feet to Inches little more or less
To hold from Xmas 1737 for 61 Years at £13.10. P AnnThat the
Petitioner John Hewlet< no role > is desirousforof making an Absolute Assignment of
the said Lease and premisses to the Petitioner John Pelling< no role > for the
Remainder of the said Term of 61 Years now to come & unexpiredAnd
praying That the Petitioner John Hewlet< no role > may have leave absolutely to
assign the said Lease and premisses to the Petitioner John Pelling< no role > Accordingly
It is Ordered That the said John Hewlet< no role > have the Lycence of this Court
to assign the said premes to the said John Pelling< no role > Accordingly.

Upon Reading the Humble Petition of John Hodges< no role > of the Parish of St.
John Wapping in the County of Middlesex Carpenter Setting forthThat the
Petitioner proposes to take a Lease of the Governors (with such Covenants as are
usually Contained in Leases to their Tenants at Wapping) of a Mosse or Tenement
in Wapping late in the possessin ofDowsey and now empty (No. 24 ab) next
Eastward beyond the House in th Occupation ofGrasby (Broker) for
24 years to Comence from Xmas next at the Yearly rent of £4..-..- payable
quarterly clear of Taxes at the Compling House at Bridewell Hospital at and to
take the House in the Condition it is now in and to repair it himself at his own
Expence, And that all Locks, Keys, Bolts, Barrs, Palitions, Chimney peices
Hearths & other things (Except Shelves & Mowsills in the Shop) which are now or
shall here after during the Term be set up in the premisses shall be left at the
one of the Termand to Execute a Counterpart of such LeaseAnd praying
a Lease According to his said ProposalsIt is Ordered that the said Petition
be referred to the Comittee of this House to consider thereof and to Report their
Opinion thereon to the Court.
