Upon reading the humble Petition of John Baker< no role > of St. Leonard Shoreditch Carpenter &
Charles Scott< no role > of St Botolph without Bishopsgate Gent settingforthThat the Govrs. by Indre
of Lease bearing date the 18th. day of May 1738. demised to the Petr. Baker All that peice or
parcell of Ground seltrate & being on the back of the Building on the Eastside of Globe
Yard in old Bethlem in the parsih of St. Botolph without Bishopsgate London whereon
one Brick Message is newly erected and built by the said John Baker< no role > but not finished
and the Area & Yards there to belonging abutting East partly on other Messes demised or
agreed to be demised by the said Govrs. to John Benson< no role > Esqr . and partly on the Stables of
Thomas Vickars Esqr . in Swarn Yard and North on other Ground demised or agreed to be
demised to the said John Baker< no role > & South on the passage leading to Bethlem Court cont in
length from North to South on the West side thereof 126 feet of Assize little more or less
And on the East side thereof 125 feet 10 Inches of Assize little more or less & at the North
End thereof 11 feet of Assize little more or less and at the South and thereof 14 feet of
Assize little more or less which said thereby demised peremes are part of the possions of the
Said Hospital of Bethlem and are more particularly desiribed or delineated in a Map or
Ground Plott there of thereto annexed together with all Ways passages Lights Easemeats
Watercourses Profits Comoditys & Appurtences to the said thereby demised premisses
belonging or appertaining To hold the same for 61 Years from Laday 1737. at a
Pepper born Rent for the first Year and Thirty six Shillings a year for the Remainter
payable Quarterly Tax freeAnd by one other Indre of Lease dated 15th same May
the Govrs. demised to the Petr Baker All that peice or parcell of Ground situate and
being on the West side of Globe Yard in Old Bethlem in the said Parish of St Botolph
without Bishopsgate London whereon Nine brick Messuages are newly erected and built
by the said John Baker< no role > but not yet finished and the Yards there to belonging a butting
West on Ground Belonging to the City of London & North & South on other ground demised
or agreed to be demised by the said Govrs to the said John Baker< no role > cont in front from
North to South towards Globe Yard 141 feet 9 Inches of Assize little more or less and on the
back part thereof 143 feet of assize little more or less And in depth from East to West at the
South end thereof 42 foot of Assize little more or less and at the North End thereof
52 feet of Assize little more or less which said thereby demised premes are part of the
possessions of the said Hospital of Bethlem and are more particularly described or deli [..]
in a Map or Ground Plott thereof thereto annexed together with all Ways passages Lights
Easements Watercourses profits Comoditys & appurtences to the said thereby demised premes
belonging or appertaining To hold the same for 61 years from Laday 1737. at a Pepper Con
for the first Year & £13..10.a years for the Remainder payable Quarterly Tax free
And by one other Indre of Lease dated 16th. same May the Govrs. demise to the Petr.
Baker All the peice or parcell of Ground Situate and being at the North and of Glote
Yard in old Bethlem inthe said parish of Sr . Botolph without Bishopsgate London
abutting East on two Swan yard in the occupation of Thomas Vickars Esqr . Wed on
Ground belonging to the City of London and North partly on certain Streets and
Warehouses in the accuptin of Joseph Mistress and partly on certain Warehouses and
Workshops in the occupation of East containing in length from East to West
on the South side thereof 118 feet & 6 Inches of assize little more of less and on the
North side thereof 120 feet & 8 Inches of Assize little more or less and in breadth
from North to South on the East side thereof 65 feet of Assize little more or less
and on the West side thereof 52 foot & 4 Irectes of Assize little more or less which said thereby
semised Ground is part of the possions of the said Hospital of Bridwell & is Moore Particularly
described or delivered in a Mapor Ground Hott thereof thereto annext Together with all Ways
passages lights Easements Wateceparses Comoditys & apprentences to the said thereby demised penes
belonging or appertaining to hold for be years from Lastley 1737. at peper Corn Rent the first year
& four Shillings a year for the Rent payable Quarterley Tax FreeThat that Petr. Bakers as
[..] ous of dis [..] or leasing to the Petr. Charles Scott< no role > the said several premes by the sd Lease
granted for a Term not exceeding the said Terms granted to the Petr Baker as aforesaid
And praying that the Pet. Baker may have leave to demise or lease the said permes to these
Peter Chorles Scott accorerdinglyIt is Ordered that the said John Baker< no role > here the Licence
of this Court do demise or assign the said permes to the said Charles Scott< no role > Accordingly.
